Countries We Deal with as Sugar Distributor

Petronet is famous for its sugar dealing services across the seas. It has expanded its sugar trading with all seven continents. We have listed some of the leading player countries in sugar dealing. 

1. India: India is the largest sugar production country with more than 50 million farmers involved in sugarcane farming. It produced around 36 million metric tons of sugar (6 million more than last year’s production). It is the largest sugar exporter with main countries including Sudan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and UAE.  
2. Brazil: Brazil is the top sugar production country with its production of 41 million metric tons in the year 2022-23. São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Goiás are Brazil states that account for around 90% of the entire country’s sugar manufacturing.  
3. Thailand: Thailand is the largest sugar exporter. According to a report, its millers produced around 5 million tons of sugar in 2023. Indonesia, South Korea, Laos, Philippines, and Cambodia are its main exporters of sugar.  
4. Mexico: Mexican sugar is also leading with its improved sugar production in 2023. It is among the best sugar distributors exporting around $669 million of it. 
5. USA: The USA produced around 9 million metric tons of sugar in the last two years. Also, a sugarcane of over 32.9 million net tons was cultivated in the year 2023. Florida, Louisiana, and Texas are the primary states with sugarcane farming.  
6. Australia: Exporting around 80% of its sugar production to the globe, it is among the largest sugar exporting countries. It directly and indirectly supports many employees. Its sugar production value is $2.2 billion recently.  
7. UK: The UK is a leading country in the production of beet sugar. It imports raw sugar and produces around 1.2 million tons of it. The majority of sugar beet is found in East Midlands and East Anglia.  
8. Russia: With an annual production of 45 million tons of sugar, Russia stands as one of the largest beet sugar manufacturing countries. Besides, the country’s per capita sugar consumption is the highest in the world. However, Russia’s sugar production slightly decreased due to the war. 
9. China: China is among the leading sugar consuming countries. It also produces the greatest sugar amounts; accounting for around 7.92 million metric tons production in 2022-23. 
10. Belgium: Belgium is the largest producer of sugar in the European Union and exceeded over 30 million tonnes of sugar this year. Colombia, Mauritius and Guatemala are its largest sugar trading partners.  
11. Japan: Japan is also the highest sugar producing country. In the year 2022, 1.31 million tons of sugar cane production was reported here. However, it highly depends on sugar suppliers from Australia, Thailand, USA, and China.  
12. Germany: Germany is on its way to increase its beet sugar production by around 10% from this year. The country’s harvest forecast and sugar industry uncovered the prediction. It shared its sugar supplying services of $1.76 billion export to countries including the USA, Austria, Poland, and Netherlands.  
13. Canada: Canada highly imports sugar from the best sugar supplier companies. Brazil is the largest sugar exporter to Canada and become the largest sugar distributor. It shared around $500 million in 2022.  
14. Netherlands: Sugar production in the Netherlands is measured in beet production, campaign length and beet quality. It annually produces sugar of around 0.9–1.3 million tonnes. Fiji, Brazil, Paraguay and Belgium are its top-rated sugar suppliers.  
15. South Korea: Sugar highly comes from the best sugar distributing companies in South Korea. It does not produce it. In the year 2017, it produced 1.44 million tons of sugar. Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Thailand, El Salvador and Australia are its main sugar importing partners.  
16. Italy: Italy have European sugar beet growers, and plants including Minerbio and Pontelongo are the main sources of sugar in Italy. However, it does not contribute to major sugar production. Germany, France and the Netherlands are its top global sugar trading partners.
